Disney Marketplace
LAST DAY! (Crying smiley)
- Try to give yourself a last treat before leaving, so your trip home has that last piece of magic.

- Since watching the WDW Tour channel while packing to leave is too depressing, I switch channels and get rewarded by a great House of Mouse episode. They troll through their basement giving the viewers glimpses of tons of Disney movies including the Chinese dragon from Mulan and the Black Cauldron. How old am I?
- For breakfast, we get our favorite items from this week: yogurt and granola, we share breakfast potatoes, and John gets an omelet
- Yesterday, we ate breakfast to music from The Doors. Today, it's Saturday Night Fever. You can't say Pop Century isn't diversified!
- On our walk out, we take a different path and read the signs we've missed. I learn some intereting
facts about the year I was born, but I can't say what they are because then you'll know what year I was
bor.
We then take different roads so we see things we haven't before, even ending up behind The Land in Epcot and touring Old Key West.
- The weather is gorgeous: warm, sunny, blue skies, 77 degrees. I'm trying not to be petty and wish bad
weather on the people just coming in.
- It might not be a full day, but it's still a Disney day! So I treat it like the others, switching to Downtown pins on my lanyard, and grabbing Pal Mickey and Kahluá to come with me. Of course, I end up being the only person in the Marketplace wearing a lanyard, Pal Mickey, and Disney bear.
- Now it's time to say goodbye, to all our company! Um... actually no. Now it's time to pick up the souvenirs off that list we've been making! Kenya coffee for my mom and stepfather along with biscotti; Polynesian Christmas and antennae toppers for the Turbervilles; Dog toy and kitty treats; and for us, Park icon glasses, a couple pins, and magnets.
- After shopping, it's time for the traditional hot fudge sundae at Giradelli's!
- It looked like it was time to go, when John surprised me! We still have another hour and we rent a canopy boat and tour the backwaters!! Fantastic!!
We (us and the cast members) have a hard time starting the boat. It's 10 mins into our rental time before we're out of the dock. We worried they would take that from our time, but no! They tell us the clock starts from when we actually leave!
- We really need to move down here. It would be so nice to be one of the people in Marketplace who live nearby and on a nice day like this, decide to pop over to WDW.

- Really, we got to learn to stop overpacking. Who's going to carry all this? (See pic)

- We made sure to give ourselves plenty of time to get to the train station, and what happens? The train
is an hour late! We could have spent that hour in Disney! I must be a jinx. Every trip for the past year
has had big delays! John decides to plunge head first into reality and buys a newspaper. Not me!
Reality is taking me back kicking and screaming!
- I stand for ten minutes at the car as John turns in the keys etc. Thanks, Dollar Rental! Rub it in that I
have to leave!
- Since when is WDW the place to dress like Vogue and GQ magazine? And this lot keeps staring at me
in my T-shirt as if to say, "Peasant." Look out, pal! I have pins, I'll use them!

- The line at Giradelli's takes forever! Which means I go into my impatient mode. Which means I get
picked on by John. Which means I threaten to dump his hot fudge sundae on his head! Which means
we have to make up and we do. But we're still not through the line which means I go into my impatient mode...

- On our boat trip, we pass the Treehouse villas. As a kid, I was always disappointed these didn't look
like the Swiss Family Treehouse.
But as an adult, I appreciate their water view, having that space and privacy. I would love to have something like one of those to stay in! So sad that Disney will not refurbish them and rent them out anymore.

- As we walk out of Pop Century, John says: "I don't want to see these people starting their vacations."
Then, as if he yelled out to them, "Give me your vacations! Oh, and your money because we're out!"
- We see someone on an electric scooter. Their bumper sticker says: My other vehicle is a X-wing fighter!
- At last, John announces, "It's time to go." Yeah, to the bathroom!
